Mission & Editorial Standards
Our Mission
Peptides Know How is an independent educational resource dedicated to providing accurate, evidence-based information about peptide therapeutics. We exist to bridge the gap between peer-reviewed research and the growing public interest in therapeutic peptides.
We are not a vendor. We do not sell, recommend or endorse any specific peptide products, compounding pharmacies, or suppliers. We are not affiliated with any pharmaceutical manufacturer, peptide supplier, or clinical practice.
We are not a medical practice. The information on this site is educational and does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. We strongly encourage all readers to consult qualified healthcare professionals before starting, modifying, or discontinuing any therapy.
Our goal is to be the most trustworthy, thoroughly cited, and clinically rigorous peptide education resource available online. We believe that patients and clinicians alike deserve access to clear, unbiased information drawn directly from the scientific literature.
Editorial Standards
Content Creation Process
Every monograph, protocol, and educational article on Peptides Know How follows a structured creation process:
- Literature review: A comprehensive search of PubMed, ClinicalTrials.gov, and FDA databases for all relevant published research on the topic.
- Drafting: Content is drafted by writers with scientific or medical backgrounds, following our standardized monograph template to ensure consistency across all entries.
- Medical review: Every piece of clinical content is reviewed by qualified medical professionals before publication.
- Citation verification: All citations are verified against original sources. We link to DOIs and PubMed identifiers wherever possible.
- Publication and dating: Published content displays the date of last medical review and the name of the reviewing clinician.
Evidence Grading
We clearly distinguish between different levels of evidence throughout our content:
- FDA-approved indications are labeled as such with references to approved labeling.
- Clinical trial data is cited with trial name, phase, and registration number where available.
- Preclinical (animal) data is always explicitly identified as such and never extrapolated to imply human efficacy.
- In vitro data is clearly labeled and contextualized within its limitations.
- Anecdotal or community-reported protocols are identified as lacking clinical evidence and included only where they represent common practice that readers may encounter.
Corrections Policy
We take factual accuracy seriously. If an error is identified in any published content:
- We correct the error promptly and transparently.
- Corrections are noted at the top of the affected page with the date of correction.
- Material corrections (those affecting clinical interpretation) are reviewed by an advisory board member before publication.
- Readers can report errors by emailing our editorial team.
Citation Policy
We maintain a strict citation policy to ensure the reliability of our content:
- Primary literature only: We cite original research articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and official FDA documents. We do not cite blogs, vendor websites, social media posts, or marketing materials as evidence.
- PubMed-indexed sources: The vast majority of our citations are from PubMed-indexed, peer-reviewed journals. We include PMIDs for easy verification.
- ClinicalTrials.gov references: For ongoing or recently completed trials, we reference the ClinicalTrials.gov registration (NCT number).
- FDA labeling: For approved drugs, we cite the official FDA prescribing information with reference IDs.
- Transparency on evidence gaps: Where evidence is limited or absent (as with many research peptides), we state this explicitly rather than filling gaps with speculation.
Funding & Conflicts of Interest
Transparency about funding and potential conflicts is essential to maintaining trust:
- No industry funding: Peptides Know How does not accept funding from pharmaceutical companies, peptide manufacturers, or compounding pharmacies.
- No product sales: We do not sell peptides, supplements, or any pharmaceutical products. We do not earn commissions or affiliate revenue from product sales.
- No sponsored content: All content is produced independently. We do not publish sponsored articles, advertorials, or paid placements.
Content Update Process
Peptide research evolves rapidly. We maintain our content through a systematic update process:
- Rolling review cycle: Every monograph is reviewed on a rolling schedule, with a target of at least one full review per year for each entry.
- Triggered updates: New FDA approvals, major trial publications, safety alerts, or label changes trigger immediate review and update of affected content.
- Date stamping: Every page displays its date of last medical review. Pages older than 12 months without review are flagged with a notice.
- Changelog: Material updates are recorded in our site-wide changelog on the home page.
- Version history: For monographs with significant revisions, we maintain a version history noting what changed and why.
